Assignments for Antibiotic discussion on 3/6/08
Please have the following information prepared about your class of antibiotics:
-Mechanism of Action
-Mechanism for resistance
-Spectrum of activity
-Major differences between antibiotics in the same class
-Most common uses
-Concentration vs. Time dependent killing
-Formulation (IV/PO or both); any meds that have 100% bioavailability
-Major side effects/toxic effects a “Pharmacist” should monitor
**Don't get caught up on providing small details for every drug; should be class

Tuesday - Approach to patient; MUE; Medication reconciliation practice
